The warm heart of Africa
Für das Hilfswerk EcoSolidar bin ich photographsich in Malawi unterwegs. Wir begleiten und begegnen Menschen in überaus herausfordenden Lebensumständen. Ein Teil dieser Menschen ist zusätzlich mit einer Behinderung konfrontiert.
Das Leben hält für die überwiegende Mehrheit der Weltbevölkerung immense Herausforderungen bereit. Es ist der würdevolle Umgang der Ärmsten mit ihrer Situation, die mich in solchen Momenten sprachlos und demütig werden lässt. Die Menschen in Malawi sagen von sich, sie seien "the warm heart of Africa".

I have been invited by the NGO EcoSolidar to travel with them to Malawi in Africa and document the trip photographically. We will be meeting and interacting with people who live in very extreme conditions. Some of these people are also faced with disabilities.
Life holds immense challenges for the overwhelming majority of the world’s population. The dignity and graciousness of these people, in the face of their situations, leaves me humbled and speechless. The people of Malawi consider themselves to be “the warm heart of Africa”.
