Woman finding their way out of violence
Violence is a taboo not only in India, but in all countries of this world. While violence against women usually takes place in private homes, men are mostly victims of violence in the public space.
Treatment of violence - especially through images - is challenging, as the subject is complex and multilayered. I have tried to take on this challenge and did so with the intention of approaching the affected people with dignity as well as to present the topic in a constructive way.
The encounters with the SIEDS employees impressed me deeply. The energy, strength, courage and confidence these women bring into their incredibly challenging daily work for over 20 years is humbling.
